Learning to do things on his own

While Nathan was on his trip Lucas and I enjoyed a few activities together. A typical trip to the grocery store was made fun by Lucas discovering he could hide and play behind the rows of carts. I needed to brine him away from the carts with a tennis ball; never leave home without one.

When we got home Lucas took care of his own nighttime routine...doesn't he look so old?!?

I also got him dressed up and took some pictures. It's hard to get a good picture of his smiling face because he moves so quickly. But I still think he's adorable.

I've been teaching Lucas to smell our flowers instead of picking them...it's pretty cute to watch him smell flowers because the sound my nose makes he can only recreate with his mouth so he just blows air on them. On occasion he just can't help himself and picks the flowers. His "punishment" was getting to wear a flower.

On another trip to the store I let him push the kid cart. He thought it was so fun and he did a great job pushing it until he realized he could go after everything else. All in all we managed but he's going back to the seat for the foreseeable future.

Yep, of course there was a big display of balls. We could have taken them all home if he had his way.
