Baby Finnley
Our newest niece was born on Saturday. Finnley is a great addition to the Pearce family and we can't wait to meet her! Congratulations Brent and Courtney!

Visitors
Grandpa Garf and Auntie Kristi came last weekend to visit. We had a lot of fun playing. While the water was too cold for Lucas to get in the pool we played outside for a while.
During his afternoon nap Garf made brownie to celebrate my birthday and he saved the batter for Lucas. That's what grandparents do...spoil their loved ones. Lucas was one happy kid! Thanks Kristi for capturing the moment.
And we enjoyed dinner and breakfast on the deck. It was a wonderful weekend! Thanks for making the drive!
Learning to do things on his own
While Nathan was on his trip Lucas and I enjoyed a few activities together. A typical trip to the grocery store was made fun by Lucas discovering he could hide and play behind the rows of carts. I needed to brine him away from the carts with a tennis ball; never leave home without one.
When we got home Lucas took care of his own nighttime routine...doesn't he look so old?!?
I also got him dressed up and took some pictures. It's hard to get a good picture of his smiling face because he moves so quickly. But I still think he's adorable.
I've been teaching Lucas to smell our flowers instead of picking them...it's pretty cute to watch him smell flowers because the sound my nose makes he can only recreate with his mouth so he just blows air on them. On occasion he just can't help himself and picks the flowers. His "punishment" was getting to wear a flower.
On another trip to the store I let him push the kid cart. He thought it was so fun and he did a great job pushing it until he realized he could go after everything else. All in all we managed but he's going back to the seat for the foreseeable future.
Yep, of course there was a big display of balls. We could have taken them all home if he had his way. Tuesday, July 23, 2013
Since I'm Still Built Like a Football Player
Nathan was gone this weekend with the boys on the college trip and an Ole Miss jersey made it back for Lucas.

24 hour bug
Lucas had a high temp on Monday and it was thankfully gone by Tuesday morning. It was amazing for me to see him go from a sick kid snuggling with him mama...
It was so good to have him back to his cheery self.

Happy 4th of July
We spend the afternoon of the 4th at the Heusers' with the Obalil and Gentry families. It had been a while since we had been all together so it was good to catch up and see the kids play together. After enjoying a wonderful dinner, with smoked chicken and ribs prepared by Nathan, the kids played in the pool and sprinkler rope. We had a lot of fun even though no fireworks where seen.
Campbell and Lucas playing catch, or Lucas thinking that Campbell was playing with him.
The "big" kids chasing one another.
It was a fun day. Happy 4th!
Pearce Family at Lake Winnie
This year's annual Pearce family gathering was at Lake Winnie in northern MN. Yep, way up there. Uffta. (All said in a Minnesotan accent.) We had a great time going out on the water, fishing, swimming in the pool, playing games, and eating well. As a throw back to our youth my parents made one of our favorite special meals - tempura, a Japanese dish of lightly breaded and deep fried veggies, shrimp, and freshly caught walleye. It was amazing as always.
I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked but here are a few of Lucas enjoying his time in the land of 10,000 lakes.
