Curious Lucas
Lucas got really quiet the other morning while I was washing dishes...so I knew he was having fun. This is what I saw when I looked over the counter...he has to check everything out!
Date night: Mommy & Lucas
Friday night Nathan went golfing with the guys so it gave me a good reason to do something fun with Lucas. We had an impromptu dinner at our local Mexican restaurant and because I didn't have my usual supplies Lucas got to drink from a cup/straw. He did very well and like it...he's all about trying and doing new things.
After dinner we headed to the park. Lucas enjoyed going down the slide by himself and with me on the bigger one, getting pushed in the swing, and following around the bigger kids. Thanks for a great date night little guy!

Wagon ride
When Garf came last weekend he took advantage of the nice weather to give Lucas a ride in the wagon he gave him. Here is a picture we grabbed when we passed them on the road...too cute to not stop and say hi. :-) Lucas enjoyed the ride so much that he took a nap for a while.
Lilac bushes
Last year for Mother's Day and my birthday, Nathan and Lucas gave me two lilac bushes, which are my favorite for many reasons. With last year's hot temperatures and little rain the bushes didn't look good by the end of summer and we questioned if they were alive. So much to our surprise they budded and bloomed this spring. They make me smile each time I pass them when I come and go from the house. Thanks boys for the gifts that will keep on giving.

NCAA Tennis
After a year of waiting Garf, Nathan, Lucas and I attended the NCAA tennis championship at U of I...and Stacy got to put up with a day of tennis as well; she was a great sport about it too. I don't know how but all of us made it from 1-9pm. Lucas really didn't watch much but he loved playing near the courts. It was a great day of tennis and family fun. Glad it started with a nap on the way down.
Auntie Stacy's Visit
Last weekend my sister Stacy came for a long weekend. We haven't seen her since Christmas so it was nice that she made the trip. We accomplished most things on her to do list...ate lots of ice cream, played with Lucas, worked out, shopped, and hung out. She also was our babysitter, which worked out well for everyone. We also got a bonus day together since her flight was delayed. It was a great weekend!
Who's who?
Can you tell who is who - Nathan or Lucas? I don't know about you but they don't look alike at all. ;-)

Farmer Lucas
I thought Lucas looked so cute in his overalls, and once he picked up a gas can...I just can't resist taking a picture.

Mother's Day
Today was a HAPPY Mother's Day thanks to my sweet boys. Lucas slept in so I got to sleep in. There were flowers on the counter and a hand delivered art project of Lucas' handprints; it was very cute. It was a nice day. He makes me smile...hopefully these pictures make you smile too.

Take me out to the ballgame
While the spring weather hasn't been great for baseball, we've made it out to two Bradley baseball games. The Braves have struggled, but Lucas likes to clap, stop and dance to the music, chase his baseball, and eat popcorn.

Old man pitcher
Nathan has accomplished one of his softball goals. He's the old man who pitches and doesn't bat. Lucas likes it because daddy gets to hold him in the dugout.
Playing with cousins
We took a lot of pictures over the weekend but only a few are on my phone so it will take a while to add the others. It was so fun to see the cousins playing together. Lucas attempted to keep up with the bigger boys and they were patient with him.
Burns Family Visit
Elicia, Shawn, Breck, and Cullen came down for a visit and helped us celebrate Lucas' birthday. It was the boys first time on a plane and in Illinois, and I think they really enjoyed it. A couple of the days we took the boys around in the wagon Garf gave Lucas. Breck was a good seatbelt for Lucas.
