Enjoying vacation

Almost every day of fall break we brought Lucas into bed with us after he got up in the morning to play and cuddle. It was so nice to slow down and enjoy that time as a family. Lucas is really never in a bad mood, but mornings are traditionally a really good time for him...as you can see here.

I might have pushed my luck in trying to get more than one picture.

Then on Saturday we went to the BU men's game, and had a good time. BU pulled out another W, and Lucas worked on befriending more of the people who sit around us. This time he yelled to get their attention...that boy is developing a good set of lungs. Lucas is so friendly...he's waving to you here. :)

Thanksgiving

Lucas' first Thanksgiving was at our house with Grandpa Thomas joining us. It was a beautiful day out and we got Christmas lights hung before dinner. Here are a few of the fun photos I took that day. We are so thankful for everything God has given us, including each person reading this blog. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so thankful to have wonderful family and friends in our lives.

"Uh, can I eat this?"

"What? You trying to get my attention? I just want to check out this big orange thing."

"Hi Mommy!"

Which weighs more...turkey or Lucas?

"Yeah guys...why aren't you sitting down? This food looks good, even though I can't eat it yet."

"Grandpa says these potatoes are his favorite, but I think I like the sweet ones more."

"Happy Thanksgiving!"

Date Day/Night

A couple weekends ago Nathan and I went on a date. Okay, a date for us...a bus trip to Indy to watch BU play IUPUI. We left about Noon and got home at Midnight. That marks the longest time both of us have been away from Lucas. While we wished Lucas could have made the trip with us, we all survived. Lucas had a nice time with Emily and Sam (thank you guys!), and we enjoyed an amazing dinner and watching a BU victory, which have been rare. St. Elmo is highly recommended by Nathan and me as a place to dine in Indy...amazing meal!

We're not sure what Lucas is doing here, but I'll say that he was giving us the sweet pity face so we wouldn't leave. And earlier in the morning Daddy was helping Lucas walk. He is a ways off from walking, but it looks like it could be a lot sooner based on this photo.

Tip off...BU ball.

Thanks for taking me 'out' Nathan. I enjoy my time with you. Love you sweetie!

6 months!

Lucas is over 6 months old...it's hard to think he's been with us for half a year or 183+ days. Capturing sweet pictures on the basketball/tennis blanket is a bit of a challenge because he wants to move around, but the sitting works a lot better.

We started to have some fun with the sticker...Lucas wasn't sure what to think of it...

Happy 6 months little guy! Love you!

1st Bradley Basketball Game

Nathan was very excited to take Lucas to his first Bradley basketball game at Carver Arena. I don't remember many details from the game besides it ended in a victory, but Lucas had a great time and entertained the people sitting around us. He enjoyed dancing to the music. Below you'll find a nice picture of the boys on the court, a mug shot quality photo of Lucas with his parents, Lucas' serious face that he often shares with us in the car, and the smile we get after taking a picture of his serious face.

Splash, splash, splash

It's hard to know where best to give Lucas his bath these days but his ability to sit up really helps make it easier. The last couple of times we bathed him in the sink he figured out how to splash...so it's back to the tub. However, I let him play and splash pretty good the other day. (It was tough for me to let him make a mess...but since it's just water, I got over it.) He was having so much fun...who was I to stop it. :)

Halloween

On Halloween Nathan and Lucas enjoyed the evening while Erin was at work helping with the Trick or Treat for Change event, which raised over $19,000 for Habitat. The first item on their docket was dinner. In honor of Halloween Lucas was wearing an orange onesie, which just happened to say 'feed me'. This boy likes his food.

What else do you serve on Halloween, but PUMPKIN. "Daddy, I want more. Yeah, wait. Let me see."

Penguin's at play...

Then they stopped at Deb's house...

And they ended their night at the Heuser's. From what Nathan said, Lucas and Campbell were having a lot of fun playing together and making each other laugh a lot. It's fun to see our kids playing together.

It was a great 1st Halloween!

PCP

I'm sorry I'm so far behind in posting to the blog. Luckily we've been taken pictures...just not getting them posted. We took Lucas to a trick-or-treat event hosted by Greek students at Bradley the Monday before Halloween since Erin had to work on Halloween. Afterwards we headed to the Heuser's for our 6th Annual Pumpkin Craving Party (PCP).

Here's our little guy getting dressed up as a penguin. The 3rd penguin in the Pearce family, thanks Burns family for sharing the costume with us. It was a bit of a challenge to get Lucas in the costume but once it was on he enjoyed it. He was distracted here by the students in the office...he likes to get people's attention. :)

After we walked through the Greek event, we stopped by the President's Office to say hi. Thank you President Glasser for the teddy bear.

On our way to the Heuser's Lucas needed a quick nap after pulling off his penguin feet and a sock. He loves grabbing his toes and taking off his sock...to suck on them.

Campbell couldn't take her eyes off her new friend.

We got pretty close to all of us looking at the camera.

Penguin lost in a pumpkin patch.

Between Nathan and I we got one pumpkin carved (a ghost with "boo" in it's belly).
