Untitled

I love the joy on Lucas' face as he became proficient in rolling over.
 Just hanging out.
New setup in his play gym...he needs to be sitting and playing.

Sleepy boys

Busy days, early mornings, and sick Lucas leads to early bedtimes...on the couch. Priceless.

Morton Pumpkin Festival

Even though Nathan has lived in Peoria for over 10 years and enjoys local festivals, this last weekend was his first time at the Morton Pumpkin Festival...making it a first for everyone in the Thomas family. We had pumpkin chili, pumpkin chili dog, pumpkin ice cream, and pumpkin funnel cake...oh my. We also bought Lucas a cute knit hat you'll see in future posts. Lucas hasn't been a huge fan of hats but he enjoyed us trying different hats on him at the festival, which helped me sell Nathan on purchasing a hat. (Thanks Lucas for helping Mommy on this one.) It was a beautiful fall day and a great way to spend the evening as a family.

Sick little boy

This last week in the Thomas household was a tough one as our little guy (and Erin) got sick. While he sounded and looked pathetic for several days (I'll spare you the details), he was a trooper. And to top things off, Lucas had his 4 mo. shots on Monday too. Lucas is now 25.5 inches and 15 lbs. He's no longer in the 80th percentile but is still a healthy, growing boy.

There were several times in which tears and snot took over his face...and he'd smile right through it.
And after I got him cleaned up, he game be these gems. So silly, and cute! I needed to capture him in his long-sleeve & shorts combo...the perfect combo according to Nathan.

The cough is still hanging on but he's doing a lot better; we started to see his wonderful personality come back on Saturday and almost fully on Sunday.

1st Weekend in Mexico

Two weekends ago Lucas final made his first trip to Grandpa Thomas' house in Mexico....Mexico, MO. Lucas might not be ready for international travel to Mexico yet. ;-) He was excited to see Grandpa. He woke up when we pulled into town and started crying because he couldn't wait any long to see him...and then was happy and playful once he was in Grandpa's arms. Honestly, I was very impressed with how late all the Thomas men stayed up that night. I guess Lucas wasn't the only one excited for the reunion.

On Saturday we made our rounds of Mexico, visiting the Millers and Mrs. Winn, playing tennis, and eating  local BBQ at Porky's. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful time. Thank you Grandpa Garf!

Lucas and Grandpa hanging out in the morning.

Lucas on Nathan's boyhood courts, but due to other people out playing we weren't on Daddy's court. We think the game was a little lost on him but really he just didn't like being left out...so we all took turns playing with Lucas while the other two would hit. And last, Lucas taking his nap on the way back to Peoria. It's hard to get a sense of how he's laying but trust me when I say it doesn't look comfortable any way you look at it.

Happy Birthday Campbell

Campbell turned 2 on September 3rd. She is a wonderful little girl...really, she's not that little any more; she has an impressive vocabulary and is very tall. Happy Birthday Campbell!

Guess who rolled over?!?

Yes, the morning after Lucas turned 4 months old I found him on his belly when he woke up in the morning. Nathan has seen the full roll but I have yet to see it as I startled him but getting too excited when he almost did it. He was on his tummy again this morning...might be his new thing.

4 months old!

Not sure of Lucas' official height and weight as this point, but he's sure getting big. Happy 4 months buddy!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful long Labor Day Weekend together; it was a great mix of relaxing and getting out of the house. Lucas had fallen asleep on my lap one night and he stayed sleeping long enough to find his old spot on Daddy's chest. It's hard to believe he's already "growing out" of things. This picture brings tears of joy and sorrow as I know how much Nathan enjoyed the hours they spent together like this and that he misses it; SO glad I could capture this moment.

Lucas has done several new things in the past week or so. He has a great surprised face...look at how big those eyes are. :) But I took the picture to capture the fact that he grabs his toes...he'd been working on it for a bit and finally got it. He also grabs and holds on to the birds on his play gym.
Nathan put together his jumperoo seat on Friday night. Lucas' feet barely touch the ground but he likes to move around and bounce in it.

On Saturday the rain was really coming down so Lucas and I watched it for a while...he really likes to check things out. The day cleared up in time for us to celebrate Lauren O's 30th birthday over dinner. Here are a couple pictures of Lucas "dressed up" and "playing" with Harper; it's funny, every picture I have of them together Lucas is just staring at Harper.

Lucas proudly wearing his name onesie (thanks to Auntie Elicia).

Love this picture! Thanks for a wonderful weekend boys!
