When I put baseball jersey style pj's on Lucas the other night, Nathan thought it was appropriate to round out the outfit with his Cardinals hat. I agreed.
Lucas was working to get the hat off his head because he likes to eat them, but we managed to keep it on long enough to get a few photos.
Last night Campbell & Logan came over for a bit, which was fun. Before Lucas went to bed Campbell, Lucas and I got to read a few books; they both liked this one.

7 months
Yes, Lucas is already 7 months old, really almost 7.5 months at this time. Nathan and I can't believe what a big little boy we have. He continues to learn new things each day and likes to practice newly learned skills from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed. The biggest things right now are waving and clapping his hands. It sounds like he says 'hi' when he waves, but really he's just learned to mimic the inflection change as he squeals...but it's fun nonetheless. He claps his hands to songs, us cheering, or when he likes something. And with such a happy kid, there is a lot of clapping. :)
A couple pictures with the Christmas tree, which we've managed to keep him out of.
"Oh Daddy, you're so silly! Do it again!"
Big smile. :)
Love his smirk.
Getting pictures of Lucas on his back on the tennis/basketball blanket are next to impossible unless Nathan is playing with him and keeping him distracted...so lots of smiles result.
"Yeah!"
"Dad, I like eating my sox. You should try them."
As you can see we continue to enjoy all of our moments together.

Brunch with Hollis Family
On Sunday we got to visit the wonderful Hollis family, Gloria, and Barbara. It had been way too long since we'd seen them, and really enjoyed our time together. Thank you for the invitation!
Great one of the kids...Caleb, Noah, Alina, Meg, & Lucas (L-R, top to bottom).
Alina kept a close eye on me and the camera so she knew when to smile.
Meg was a little distracted by Lucas and getting to hold the baby...but I got her to look here, even if it meant it looks like she's just holding a head.
Lucas had a ball with Anne. I don't know exactly what she was doing over there...but he obviously loved it.
Good times.

New camera
So I finally got all the parts for my new camera...and I'm in love. I've been waiting a long time to get a camera like this and I'm having so much fun with it. It's a little sad that I'm looking forward to the long car rides for Christmas to read the manual. :) Can you see the difference?
Lucas is curious about what I'm doing.
"I'll give you a smile if you'll let me touch the tree."
This is a face only a mom or dad could love. ;-)

December 1st
We celebrated the beginning of December by getting our Christmas tree from a local stand and then heading to the BU vs. Michigan men's basketball game. We didn't get a family picture with the tree yet because we weren't dressed for it, but it will come. Lucas thought the trees were pretty cool.
"Oh, Daddy wants me to look at him, not the tree."
I still don't know how Lucas fell asleep during the game was it was loud in the arena, but it was nap time. He did really good during the game. It was a fun and fairly close game...and Nathan was in happy place, even though it wasn't a BU victory.

Enjoying vacation
Almost every day of fall break we brought Lucas into bed with us after he got up in the morning to play and cuddle. It was so nice to slow down and enjoy that time as a family. Lucas is really never in a bad mood, but mornings are traditionally a really good time for him...as you can see here.
I might have pushed my luck in trying to get more than one picture.
Then on Saturday we went to the BU men's game, and had a good time. BU pulled out another W, and Lucas worked on befriending more of the people who sit around us. This time he yelled to get their attention...that boy is developing a good set of lungs. Lucas is so friendly...he's waving to you here. :)

Thanksgiving
Lucas' first Thanksgiving was at our house with Grandpa Thomas joining us. It was a beautiful day out and we got Christmas lights hung before dinner. Here are a few of the fun photos I took that day. We are so thankful for everything God has given us, including each person reading this blog. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so thankful to have wonderful family and friends in our lives.
"Uh, can I eat this?"
"What? You trying to get my attention? I just want to check out this big orange thing."
"Hi Mommy!"
Which weighs more...turkey or Lucas?
"Yeah guys...why aren't you sitting down? This food looks good, even though I can't eat it yet."
"Grandpa says these potatoes are his favorite, but I think I like the sweet ones more."

Date Day/Night
A couple weekends ago Nathan and I went on a date. Okay, a date for us...a bus trip to Indy to watch BU play IUPUI. We left about Noon and got home at Midnight. That marks the longest time both of us have been away from Lucas. While we wished Lucas could have made the trip with us, we all survived. Lucas had a nice time with Emily and Sam (thank you guys!), and we enjoyed an amazing dinner and watching a BU victory, which have been rare. St. Elmo is highly recommended by Nathan and me as a place to dine in Indy...amazing meal!
We're not sure what Lucas is doing here, but I'll say that he was giving us the sweet pity face so we wouldn't leave. And earlier in the morning Daddy was helping Lucas walk. He is a ways off from walking, but it looks like it could be a lot sooner based on this photo.
Thanks for taking me 'out' Nathan. I enjoy my time with you. Love you sweetie!

Tip off...BU ball.

6 months!
Lucas is over 6 months old...it's hard to think he's been with us for half a year or 183+ days. Capturing sweet pictures on the basketball/tennis blanket is a bit of a challenge because he wants to move around, but the sitting works a lot better.
We started to have some fun with the sticker...Lucas wasn't sure what to think of it...
Happy 6 months little guy! Love you!

1st Bradley Basketball Game
Nathan was very excited to take Lucas to his first Bradley basketball game at Carver Arena. I don't remember many details from the game besides it ended in a victory, but Lucas had a great time and entertained the people sitting around us. He enjoyed dancing to the music. Below you'll find a nice picture of the boys on the court, a mug shot quality photo of Lucas with his parents, Lucas' serious face that he often shares with us in the car, and the smile we get after taking a picture of his serious face.
